What professional can I go to with scapula joint clicking and pain?

About 6 months ago i injured the joints around my left and right scapula at the gym while doing an exercise used to build your trapezius muscles. I was holding 2 dun bells of 10kg's each on each arm while standing. I then rotated my shoulders in circular motions multiple times. When I finished with the exercise my scapula joint and other joints in my upper back and clavicle area started clicking. I figured that it was normal and I went back to gym a second time. The clicking and pain in my scapula joints, clavicle joints and other upper back joints continued for weeks. I stopped gyming completely. I have lived with this constant pain and deep clicking for 6 months. I cant study or do any school work because the pain is absolutely agonizing. I really need professional help!

Who can I consult about this clicking and pain?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You need to consult an orthopedic specialist or a sports injury specialist regarding this. An X-ray or MRI may be required. Meanwhile do not strain the joints. Take an anti-inflammatory and apply warm compress. Take care!

Hi, There are a couple of types of doctors you can see. I know because I have had issues with my joints and have seen them both.

You can see a chiropractor. Chiropractors treatment is that they basically manually manipulate your joints. In addition, it may include exercises and or lifestyle type counseling.

The next is an orthopedic doctor.  Many actually specialize in sports type injuries. Unlike chiropractors, they can use surgical or non-surgical means to treat your injuries.

My advice is to go to an orthopedic specialist based on your injury.

Hope you feel better!
