My 11 year old son plays a lot of sport. Recently, when training or playing he complains of a sharp pain in his bladder "like needing the toilet really badly but not being able to go". Sometimes he is doubled over and you can see in his face he is in some pain. Could this possibly be some sort of abdominal muscle strain and what would be the best action to take to rectify the problem?
Hello~I think you should take him to his GP, he may have some kidney stones or a bladder infection; some tests need to be run to determine just what the problem is.
As to it being muscle strain, it could be, but again, the doctor can rule that out.
