always feel nauseous

I am a 24 year old female. I am not pregnant. I almost always feel nauseous, its even worse in the morning. Sometimes I throw up just to make myself feel better. after I get sick I normally do feel better. but sometimes if I'm nervous I get sick multiple times. This is ruining my life and has gone on for years. I have been to the doctor and had blood work done. She gave me something to help but it just puts me to sleep. I can't take meds that put me to sleep when I have to work a full time job. I also got put on zoloft and wellbutrin because I thought it might just be anxiety. But even on both of those I still feel sick. It really seems to get worse when I get out of my daily routine. and I seem to have triggers that make it way worse. like if I see someone with dip in their mouth and they are spitting...that just sends me over the edge. then also I know it sounds terrible and I feel like a terrible person but I can't help it. but anytime I see someone who is disabled I get really nervous and have to leave the room. such as people in wheel chairs, people with oxygen, people with the voice box thing. I have no idea why these two triggers major anxiety but they do. I had panic attacks when I was younger and still get them sometimes. but now it seems like my panic attacks turn into puking attacks. I don't know what to do anymore and I really need help. my doc doesn't seem to get it. If it is all in my head and anxiety related then why isn't my anxiety meds helping???

I started having nausea and diarrhea problems just recently.  after 6 weeks of nothing OTC helping I went to the dr.  He thinks it is anxiety (I do have anxiety attacks at times).  He started me on 10mg Celexa and it really helps. I do have  some break through nausea at night and periodic diarrhea but I can live with that.  It was the constant nausea that was really getting me down.

Have you ever thought about seeing a talk therapist (phsychiatrist) about your anxieties around people with physical disabilities.  I was harboring a lot of anger about hurting my back and the way my job treated me over it, about losing my job and no longer being able to work.  I only went to see her twice a week for about a month but it really did help.

good luck on being able to find out about your nausea problem.

Thank you for the response. I hope I can find some relief soon. I go back to my doc in Jan so I am going to express my concerns to her and see what my options are. I might have to get referred to a specialist. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for caring.

Hello,

There are many causes of nausea but it can be due to anxiety in your case.As most of the antianxiety drugs cause sedation,so I would suggest you take low dose alprazolam at night and see if the symptoms improve. Also you can take an antiemetic drug and domperidone when you have nausea. If the symptoms till persist then pls get it evaluated from a physician.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted if you have any additional queries
