burning legs and feet

I am a 74 yr. old female, started with burning feet and legs seven months ago. Had an MRI which showed mild arthritis in lower back.  Was sent to pain specialist who diagnosed my problem as spinal stenosis although MRI did not indicate this.  He injected triamcinolone acetonide nos into the nerves along the spine in November.  It did relieve the burning in the legs but not the feet.  The burning returned in March, worse than ever.  Saw a neurologist, he checked B-12 , thyroid and did a nerve conductor test  all were normal.  I do not know where to turn at this point.  The burning is worse when sitting and lying down.

Definitely sounds like neuropathy to me, too. There are different types and from what I've read, it is very common for those nerve tests and B12 to come back normal. Maybe see a different neurologist, if this one is not receptive to looking into your problem further. A lot of things can cause neuropathies other than diabetes. I have small fiber neuropathy as a result of bactrim. I would want more tests to be done, because, if possible, they might find the underlying problem and treat that. There are also creams and medication that can be prescribed to help with the pain.
Best of luck to you.

no I am not diabetic. Doubt if it is a shoe problem . I started taking B-12 and a B complex today althougth the neurologist said my levels were normal.  I am desperate and decided to try this.  Will let you know if it helps.

Thanks for your response!

Are you diabetic as feet problems can arise with this , one other point it happened to me a couple of years back , feet burning and it was my shoes, I had started wearing plastic flip flops in the garden.
