chest and back pain

I've been experiencing chest pains that feel like it goes straight through into my back. It feels like there is alot of pressure. It also hurts in my throat when I take a deep breath or swallow. It is very uncomfortable to lay on my stomach because of this chest pain. It has lasted for almost a week now. What is this?

Hello,

Many disorders produce chest pain or discomfort. Some (e.g., acute MI, unstable angina, thoracic aortic dissection, tension pneumothorax, esophageal rupture, pulmonary embolism) are immediately life threatening. Some (e.g., angina pectoris, pericarditis, myocarditis, pneumothorax, pneumonia, pancreatitis, various thoracic malignancies) are potentially life threatening. Others (eg, gastroesophageal reflux disease [GERD], peptic ulcer, esophageal motility disorders, costochondritis, chest trauma, biliary tract disease, herpes zoster) are uncomfortable but usually not dangerous.

Going by your symptoms, it seems to be pain due to gastritis or angina.Pls consult a physician at the earliest.ECG is to be done to rule out angina or MI or other cardiac causes.

Take care and do keep us posted on how you are doing.

1. Does it go away or is it constant?
2. have you seen a doctor yet? first thing they will probably check for is your heart
