I dont know what bv is, but its more than likely NOT herpes. Vaginal dryness can definitely cause pain, but Im not sure if its only during intercourse or can be constant. Herpes cant be tested for unless you are having an outbreak, and if you were, the gynocologist would definitely see at least one blister, not necessarily on your vagina, labia or clitoris, but inside too. I hope you find out what this is as soon as possible!! Keep us updated, Im curious as to what it turns out to be! *hugs*
You don't say how old you are, so I can't say it's vaginal dryness, although it can happen at any age. Ask your doctor for a prescription for Estrace or Estradiol vaginal cream. You don't have to follow the directions - I just use a little down there every other day and it keeps my v. moist and keeps it from itching or getting irritated.
Some women swear by organic plain yogurt - applied freely down there, too. And don't forget to take acidolphilus to replace the good bacteria that the antibiotics killed off in your gut.
It could be that you are lacking good bacteria so the bad keep taking over -
Wishing you the best
