Hi, My doc went North. I quickly requested my medical records. I think you will find your medical record helpful in your future too. It is a bit unusual for
someone pre-diabetic to be loosing weight. Maybe an internest would be your best bet for a new primary physician if you are unable to locate your primary.  Good wishes for finding your answers. You may appreciate a patient advocate, Try Trisha Torrey's website for a patient advocate. and
try    diagKNOWsis.org   for evidence to discuss with your physician or just for your own peace of mind.
Our health care system is becoming more complicated and exhausting
for locating the appropriate health help. Again ask the experts on here too.
If you have a pulmonary specialist you like maybe he would become your primary too. Best of success in finding a physician you appreciate.

thanks for the reply Chuckie. All of your suggestion sound valid. I am trying to get in to see my doctor now, it appears that he is missing in action so after 5 years with the same Doctor if he doesnt surface soon I need to start the search for a new one.

Hi,  Sounds like Adrenal, Pancreatic or Thyroid over-activity. Guess you have checked with your doctor. Sure sounds like abnormal hunger. Looks like you will be needing some lab workup. Best of luck in this pursuit.

Hopefully you are not compensating due to the post holiday blues. I tend to
"eat" my emotions. Physical or mental  issues....either way it can be a problem that also can be fixed.

Actualy because of all the issue I have starting with pluminary hypertenion which leave me on oxygen 34x7 for the last 7 years along with an heart attack 3 years ago which has been fixed up quite well with 9 stints plus the starting stages of diabetes  they have no problem prescribing me meds. I have had no problems with eating until about 4 to 5 months ago. There has been no changes in health except a few bouts with oxygen. We just went out for a New Years dinner at Lobster House, eat the right kinds of fish and osters.Had no desire to eat any more. I am at home 35 minutes later and am read to eat more

bondo,  if you have an Rx for oxygen,  you certainly have medical help there doing tests.  What do your various doctors say about your appetite and lack of weight gain?

Have you had your thyroid checked?  If you have an overactive thyroid you can often eat and eat without gaining weight, and actually, many people lose weight because their metabolism is in overdrive.
