edema all over

l think l have edema, it started in my ankles now it's all over.
I poke an area for the count of 30 then it takes at least 5 minutes
or longer to come back to normal.  l can now feel my heart beat,
I have a doctors appt. at the end of the month. Can l wait or should
I go earlier? My husband wants me to go to emergency.
I am 55 years old 5 ft 4 in.  ent through menapause years ago.

I would call your  doctor and ask them for advice.  If the office is closed until monday I would agree with your husband that going to the ER would be appropriate.   Sudden and severe edema needs to be investigated right away and can lead to severe complications if not treated.
