Thank you for your response. Will be seeing an opthalmologist on Thursday.
Thank you. Am still seeing the floaters in right eye but I have an appt. with an opthalmologist on Thursday.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Floaters in the eye are a sign of retinal detachment, ophthalmic migraine, a blow or fall on the head or due to some inflammation. Please consult an eye specialist for this ASAP if the floaters are persisting. Chronic eye static (if it is like a TV screen gone off) may be due to the electrical activity inside our eye. This produces an image of the vitreous and retina, sometimes white spots against black or vice versa and sometimes red hues too. This is normal. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
If you are seeing multiple floaters, particularly when accompanied by flashes of light, that is considered an emergency. Try this- look all the way up, then down a few times. Try the same thing from side to side. I have floaters and heard this trick somewhere. It often works for me.
Floaters are usually benign, but as you stated a floater in one of your eyes is not clearing. I would have the eye checked by an Ophthalmologist ASAP especially if it has been hours. A trip to the ER/Urgent Care would not be a bad idea. Did you have any trauma to the eye?
Keep us posted.
