BTW..numerus lyme patients have been misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia. It is common.
It goes without saying you need lab work.
As for getting a colonoscopy, I fail to see what that has to do with your fatigue problem.
Then again, I could be wrong.
Hi:
You should get checked for Lyme. All of your symptoms are Lyme related. Tiredness, muscle ache and lack of sex drive are all there. I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago after feeling unwell for 4-6 months. I never remember being bitten, nor did I have a rash. They believe I have had it for at least a year without symptoms. Majority of my symptoms are eye / ear.
I have since found that treatment and diagnosis is VERY political and controversial. Most regular doctors follow IDSA guidelines, which the Lyme doctors disagree with. They will only do short courses of antibiotics and most people with more chronic lyme need longer treatment. The standard ELISA test docs do has a 50% false negative rate. I was negative in March but then went to an LLMD (Lyme Literate MD) and got positive with a better test.
Check out truthaboutlymedisease.com or ilads.org and look at symptoms and treatments. also lymenet.org
I strongly suggest you get checked by an LLMD. I have met many people who were misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia for years before finally getting proper treatment.
I'm a female but, it sounds like fibromyalgia.
along with many other things. you should have a full detailed physical at 50yo including a colonoscopy.
