I have a sibling who lives at home who gets medic-aid... they do pay room and board. Call and find out how you might qualify for it- tell them your situation.
But you're in a lot of pain now, so you may even want to find a doctor who will give you deep discounts (if you can't afford buying a medical insurance policy) based on your income to try to speed diagnosis as you look into applying for Medic-aid. A gastroenterologist or a general surgeon who is experienced are suggestions as to who to go to. Ask if a H.I.D.A. scan would be appropriate. Ask if they could send a sample of the white foamy emesis (vomit) to the lab for analyzing to find out what's in it.
Since you are over 21, Medicaid should be able to help you. You need to tell them that you cannot eat the same foods as your parents and therefore should be considered head of your own household. Tell them you pay rent - even if it's $1.00 a month to your parents. This will make you head of your own household. This works in most states. Hope it works for you.
Here are some home remedies:
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in 8 oz. of water
Nux Vomica from health food store.
Pepcid
Prilosec OTC
Probiotics first thing in the morning.
4 Tablespoons of Aloe Vera juice in 8 oz. of water every morning.
1/2 cup of oil with 1/2 cup of grapefruit juice mixed well
If none of these work, please see a doctor.
Wishing you the best...
ive tried to go thru dhhr and they wont even help me because i still live at home......i feel like im stuck...no they didnt just an ultrasound and ct scan then the blood work so fourth. im gettin more scared as time goes on....even the band on my shorts hurts to be on my stomach.... i wish they would find something out.....im in so much pain everyday
I actually had my gallbladder removed in January of this year. I knew I had gallstones since I was 18 after they saw them in a cat scan. I was told that most people had them, and it never gave them issues.
I used to get these painful attacks, the first time I had them I thought I was having a heart attack. I would have pain in my abdomen, I couldn't breath, I would throw up, horrible hot flashes, and it was sooooo very painful. I went to the doctor about it and I was told I had High Atal Hernia and to stop eating spicy foods. Fifteen years later I had an attack while at work and I went to the hospital. Come to find out my gallbladder was 20 times the size it should have been and was packed full of stones. I had emergency surgery the very next day.
As I said before; the numbers are scary, but your health is much more important. There is help out there just like Silverfox said.
You really do need to see a doctor. Gallbladder problems can become severe. It is better to go in debt than to suffer this way.
Check into Obama Care... that's what its for. People who don't have health insurance. Also Hill Burton will sometimes pick up the tab for emergency surgeries.
Go apply for welfare - don't be ashamed - there are lots of us who can't afford health insurance.
wishing you the best...
it just might be your gallbladder hunny that's the same way i felt i would burp all the time get pains in my chest and stomach there was times if i couldn't throw up i had to make myself throw up to releave the pain come to find out my gallbladder was dead it stopped working they didn't know when it stopped but after the test they came to my room and said to me well you are going to have surgery my dear your gallbadder is dead we have to take it out. that was march 1st 2012 but have them check for that (if my spelling is bad im sorry i have a concussion)
That is really scary! Although I do not know what the slightest idea that could be wrong, I have one question. What is your health worth to you? In my early twenties I didn't have insurance and I raked up 20k in medical bills. It wasn't for sometime later that I was diagnosed with a few issues, but know means your can begin treatments.
The Symptoms you're having sound like there could be something severely wrong. I say keep pursuing it or else you could end up in a hospital and it already be too late. Worst comes to worst, there is legal help with medical bills. I ended up filing bankruptcy because of mine, but in the past 10 years I know there are alternative answers besides that. You just have to dig for it.
I say don't give up. Stop starring at the scary numbers because ultimately your health is number one. I hope this helps a little bit. I really do know how difficult it is to go from doctor to doctor and getting no answers. Sometimes it takes a doctor of a different sort to think outside the box. Good luck!
If you can't afford medical insurance and are disabled, you might want to apply for medic-aid. Also, find a place that will work with you on the finances. An experienced gastroenterologist is what it sounds like you need. Have they analyzed in a lab the white substance you've been vomitting? It seems they should have done that already and if not, they should. I think of mucous, like from allergies, which an allergist told me a person can swallow a great deal of and can contribute to acid reflux symptoms. Did they also do a H.I.D.A. scan to see if there was a gallbladder/ductwork problem that wasn't spotted on other testing?
