is this normal after d&c, endometrial ablation & tubal ligation?

32 year old female, sexually active with one partner. 6 weeks ago had a D&C, endometrial ablation & tubal ligation due to very heavy bleeding. Past ovarian cysts averaging over 2 inches. I am now experiencing vaginal dryness, burning, thick yellowish discharge (which they told me to expect), pain in my left side (almost like period cramps but only one side). My 6 week checkup (due to holidays) with my obgyn is late July and where I live it will take 6 months to get into someone else. Is this normal? What can I do to help the burning\dryness? Suggestions?

Because you had the operation 6 weeks ago, things should have settled down by now.

I would suggest you make an appointment and see your own doctor to take a swab to make sure that you do not have an infection either bacterial or fungal.  Waiting for appointment until late July is too long for you to go on like this.

In the meantime take pain relief as recommended on the packet.
Do not use any soap to wash with down below, this will make the area more dry and prone to itching.

You can try the creams that silverfox67 suggests for the dryness and itching.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Most doctors recommend Norforms suppositories.  But there is a medicated cream - VH essentials  that you can find at Walmart or Walgreens.  It relieves the itching & burning associated with vaginal dryness. - Aleve would probably help with the pain until you get in to see your doctor.
Sorry you are having this problem.  Hope you get well soon.
