low body temp

I have always delt with being cold. I have been so cold that I had on sweats, long sleeve shirt with a hoodie and was still freezing and my temp was 94.2. Everyone else was burning up. I have several things that run in my family. Dibedic, liver problems, thyroid, and so on. I feel tried a lot and have trouble sleeping. I also bruise very easy. Can anyone give me a suggestion? If my temp is "normal" I feel like I have a fevor. Again, any suggestions?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The commonest cause of feeling cold is low external temperature. However you say it was warm enough. There can be several other causes like hypothyroidism, liver diseases, adrenal insufficiency, liver failure and as a side effect of some drugs. Get tested for these as they run in the family. Chills are also felt when a fever is about to start in case of malaria and bacterial infections due to release of toxins. One can also feel chilled if you are about to break into viral fever. Vit B12 deficiency causes feeling cold, tiredness, dizziness etc. Low intrinsic factor in gut that hampers absorption, pernicious anemia, parasites in the gut, diet poor in Vit B12, Crohn;s disease, IBS, or poor metabolism by liver are the causes behind it. Please consult a doctor to rule these out. Take a diet rich in Vit B12 which should include meat and animal products, cheese, such as beef, liver, salmon, cod, and eggs. Take B12 supplements and breakfast cereals fortified with vitamin B12. Finding the cause is important.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I would recommend getting the labs I listed in my previous post.

I would recommend getting a Thyroid Panel, Basic Metabolic Panel and CBC Labs.

Taking any medications at this time?  Any medical conditions?
