mouth sores

I have had huge boils or pus pockets on my gums over the last 18 months.  They are never in the same place, and usually appear after a very stressful time.  Last week, I had 5 appear over a 1 week period.  Today, my left cheek hurts and the pain extends up to mid-temple. Any ideas what this could be?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Vit C or Vit B and iron deficiency could be the cause. It can even be herpes. Poor oral hygiene and diabetes too could be a cause.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP to run tests and examination to clinch a diagnosis.
Take care!

I had something similar to that when I was about 15 years old and my doctor said it was caused by my body trying to fight off a stomach virus. My whole mouth broke out with the sores all at once and it was very painful. What the doctor did was take this long match stick looking thing that was either sulfur or silver nitrate and touch it to the main soar on the tip of my tongue and it burned like crazy. Then he prescribed me some medicine that completely numbed my mouth and they eventually went away. So it seems right that stress could also cause it. It was terrible pain tho and I hope you feel better soon!
