muscle twitching

Hi, i am a 15 year old boy, and i have muscle twitching in the legs and arms sometimes. I can not see the muscle twitch but i can feel it under the skin, and i am worried if it is a brain tumor. Is this an initial symptom of a brain tumor?

Hello,
Muscle twitching (fasciculation) is the result of spontaneous local muscle contractions that are involuntary.
Causes of muscle twitchings are stress and anxiety, muscle fatigue, dehydration, heavy exercises, acid-base imbalance in the body, low sodium, magnesium, calcium and vit D deficiency, hypothyroidism, alcohol intake and kidney disease like kidney failure.Sometimes medications like diuretics and caffeine can also cause muscle twitchings.
Other serious causes of muscle twitchings include muscle fasciculation syndrome or neurological conditions.I think that muscle fatigue and deficiency of minerals can be a cause in your case.Try taking multimineral medicines for some days and see if the symptoms improve or not.You can also get your thyroid levels evaluated. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a physician and discuss the above options.
Hope I have provided you with sufficient information. In case you need any more, then pls post us.Take care and regards.

Do you have a lot of anxiety? If so you should talk to your parents or someone at school.
