I'm 21 years old an i have been turning blue from the time i was 13 or 14 I've noticed that it is only when i am stressed and when I played sports I talked to my instructer about it and she said that i could have a pinch in my aorta. Is this possible what do i do? thank you Jess Stockwell

The last time i want to the dr was when it first started happening and he told me that i was allergic to the water or something in the air or maybe even the cold and not to worry about it because it would go away on its own so here i am almost 10 years later still having the same problem. So no i havent had any test done i go to the doc the 9th though so i hope we can figure out something.... i will keep the rhumatoid failier in mind when i talk to him and see what he says about that thank you very much it was a big help....

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Certainly there is low oxygen if you turn blue. This could be due to a heart problem, a lung problem or due to severe anemia. You need a complete cardiac examination with ECHO, maybe angiogram, ECG and if need be TMT. Lung function tests and blood examination will also be required. Possibility of chronic carbon monoxide poisoning too should be looked into.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP to run tests and examination to clinch a diagnosis.
Take care!
