reactive swollen glands

i have had swollen glands in my neck for about 14 weeks now, i have visited my gp a number of times with this problem, i have had an ultrasound scan all my bloods taken, they all come back ok , my doctor has confirmed that the lumps are definately there but does not know why, he has now referred me to the ent clinic which i have now got my appointment today, for 3 weeks time.
But i am very anxious about these and i am worried that it may be something serious
could you please advise me what to do next because three weeks is a long time to wait when you are worrying

Thank you

Swollen lymph nodes are a sign that your body is fighting off infection. Viruses are rampant this time of year and call on our immune systems to work in overdrive. When enemy cells are broken down the debris travels to the lymph system and to the nodes. Sometimes an abundance of cells can clog the system for a while. I would not worry. If your gp checked your blood count and found nothing abnormal then you are ok. Anything related to the lymph system that is serious would definitely be reflected in lab values. Your body is doing its job. Peace and well wishes to you!

If I were your physician I would first look at your scalp to rule out pediculosis (assuming it is superficial cervical nodes)
Do not worry! ok?
