This may sound odd but my son would get unexplained fevers all the way back to 3 years of age.  The daycare would call about it, I get him home, give him Tylenol, and low and behold the fever would go away and not come back.  Finally, at one point when he was about 7 years old he told me he had joint pain when he had the fevers.  After asking the doctor and doing my own research we realized that it must be from growing pains.  He would have a little spurt each time after the fever.  When I looked up growing pains on line, it did mention fevers accompanying the pain.  I hope this helps some.

I would definitely find another doctor.  It really may be nothing at all, and it may just be his body's way of dealing with a virus - but to think that they may be leaving something unattended is scary.  I am so glad that you are paying attention so much and concerned.  Go with your gut.  Get him checked by another doctor.  There may be something else going on inside that you wouldn't want to ignore.  How high are his temps?
