reoccurring minor chest pains on the left side

I am a twenty eight year old female, and have a polyp in my gall bladder. I will my gall bladder removed on the thirteenth of this month. My question is in regards to this minor chest pain I have on the left side. I know that gas can sometimes cause minor pains in your chest and most doctors would associate it with my gall bladder disease. I do not think that is the problem, I have recently had a chest x-ray and the doctor said my results were within normal limits. I am not sure what it could be from, but I would like to know If you have any suggestions towards the possible cause?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, gas, acidity, reflux and hiatal hernia or even costochondritis can cause minor chest pain on the left. However, since you are to go for surgery soon, it is better to inform your doctor and get a 12 lead EKG and maybe a TMT or tread mill test to clear the heart related cause completely. All the best! Take care!

Hi lilrach,

First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues.

I'm sorry to hear of the pain that you are having!!  Even though that I don't have problems with my Gall Bladder, I have MANY Friends on MH that DO have BIG problems with theirs! Even thought I'm NOT a Doctor, I DO know that with THEIR problems that it has caused pain in EXACTLY that SAME place that you are experiencing yours.

HOWEVER, IF you don't think that is it then you need to go to the Doctor and have them run some tests and SEE what they say.  You NEED to get a diagnosis one way or the other!!

I HOPE that you will let us know what your Doctor says as we arae worried about you!!

I'll be looking forward to your update from your Doctor...........Sherry
