severe pelvic pain

I have had severe pelvic pain for 3 1/2 yrs now. Every since I had an emergency c- section with my daughter. I am 24 yrs old and feel 80. My symptons are shooting pain in my pelvic are that goes down my legs, severe pain with intercourse, when its cold out side, during my menstrual, when I try to sleep, when active such as working etc, stressed, during a bowel movement, pain when I urinate (before and after), pain worsens at night. I have had so many MRI's, ultra sounds, x-rays, pap test.3 1/2 half yrs later they found my uterus is enlarged, I have a complex cyst with internal echoes with in the left ovary, small follicles in the right ovary, trace amount of fluids in my cul-de-sac, thick endometrial stripe. What s this and whats it caused from. (Bad labor) or is even my pain? I have heard I could have Fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, Endometriosis etc. I can never get a real answer and it seems like I just keep getting passed from one doc to another. I have been taking up to 12 tylonel a day for 3 1/2 yrs and I am so tired depressed, weak and stress over this. I have a beautiful little girl that needs me and I am lost I really have no more places to go! Can someone help me?...... If I do not die from whats wrong with me I will with liver failure, kidney failure. I am so lost.....

Just a remark about interstitial cystitis. It is not cystitis and is NOT caused by an infection. It is a separate ailment that is most likely hereditary. It is difficult to control because there are not many treatments.

Hello,

First of all it is very painful to read how this pain has crippled your life at such a young age.
See,one of the very important causes of this pain has already been identified in your case.It is ovarian cysts. Women who have ovarian cysts may experience sharp pain if a cyst leaks fluid or bleeds a little, or more severe, sharp, and continuous pain when a large cyst twists.

Other causes which can cause such pain are endometriosis(a condition in which cells from the lining of the uterus travel and grow in other parts of the body) , a growing fibroid tumor or adenomyosis. These also need to be probed.

Choufleur is coorect in saying that interstitial cystitis can also cause such pain. Cystitis is infection of the bladder. Commonest cause is bacteria in the vagina that travel to the urethra and into the bladder. In fact, women often develop bladder infection after engaging in sexual intercourse, probably as a result of the urethra being bruised during intercourse.

I sincerely advise you to discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist and get the treatment for ovarian cysts.Moreover,12 tylenol is overdose.Pls refrain from doing it as it may lead to serious adverse effects.Your gynecologist can prescribe ibuprofen or tramadol instead.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

Adding to my comment, I really like Dr. Teresa Schutte  in case you have a gynologic condition and would like a referral to a female gyno/obstetrician. She also is aware of what interstitial cystitis entails. She can seen curt but is thorough and listens carefully. Also, in the same office are Drs. Singh and Stamler who are males, but very pleasant as well.

Keep looking, even if you must go out of town. Hope you can find the solution to the needless suffering and enjoy your family. There is an answer. At least, a proper diagnosis. However, sounds like no one has found it yet.

Perhaps, you have interstitial cystitis. The bladder lining is missing or damaged. It can cause severe pelvic pain over the bladder, near the ovaries, pain upon urination, tenderness in the legs. Intercourse, menstruation, bowel movements can aggravate it.

Go to ic-network.com and check it out.

Maybe go to the Urology Group in Cincinnati. A good way to find out if it comes from the bladder is to put a "rescue instillation" in the bladder. The bladder is numbed with marcaine and, if the pain stops for some time, it could be the bladder.

Be warned, though, interstitial cystitis is primarily a woman's disease and, often, goes misdiagnosed. Urologists are not very saavy about it, and it's a urologic condition. Ninety percent of the sufferers are female and often go from doctor to doctor.

Drs. Phillip Buffington and Marc Pliskin work with instillations. Dr. Reed Shank works with IC  patient's, however his office wait is very long.

Hope this helps.
