stopping smoking

I stopped smoking about three weeks ago and i am now experiencing some severe pains in my neck and shoulder and a sore throat, aswell as this i have been coughing up browny coloured mucus. Is this normal?

ive been smoking for over 30 years, usually about 20 a day. i havent started running

It could be.  How habitual of a smoker were you, and for how long?  Also, have you started running?
