Please can anyone suggest a possible underlying cause ? My 20 year old daughter has suffered repeated infections over the last 3 years which do not respond well to antibiotics and are slow to heal. She has been hospitalised twice with septicemia and the drug combinations and anti fungal drugs are too numerous too mention A cut caused by climbing led to osteomyelitlis of her middle finger on her right hand, eventually leading to amputation. She is currently hospitalised with a chronic foot infection, having severed her flexor (?) tendon a year ago. Two repair attempts failed and she has had ongoing infections in that foot for the last 9 months. She is generally very fit and healthy and was a keen athlete. The only childhood illness that she's had is Chickenpox. To date blood tests have not identified any underlaying causes of the infection. This may not be enough information, but I wondered whether anyone has come across anything like this before? Could she have an immune system deficiency and if so what ?If so please contact me. Thank you
