thoracic outlet syndrome

I have been having sharp pains in what seems to be my collarbone anytime i eat to fullness or take a real deep breath. If i hold in my deep breath the pain stops. The pain however is not always around even when taking a deep breath. I have researched for about 3 hours now and i have come across many different conditions such as GERD,PLEURISY,ESOPHAGEAL SPASMS, HIATUS HERNIA, and ULSARS. The best fit seems to be THORACIC OUTLET SYNDROME but, the simple fact that i do not have all the symptoms makes me unsure. My question is, does anyone have thoracic outlet syndrome but  without the severe symptoms live poor circulation and slight tingling in the finger tips? Any and all info would help.

Thanks, Ben

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You have researched well and possibility of GERD are the maximum. It is unlikely to be thoracic outlet syndrome. The treatment of acidity and GERD involves taking a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole,  lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into and a combination antibiotic tried.
Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. However I would recommend you see a doctor and take medication under a doctor’s supervision. Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, smoking, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food. Maybe these tips will help you. You should consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system) or a physician for this if these tips reduce your symptoms.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care
