My 2 1/2 year-old son has had so many fevers in the past 5 months. He was in day-care since he was born, but has been at home with his dad and sisters now instead, and was never sick this much then. His fevers run very high. In Dec it was 104+ with no other symptoms, Jan -2 different times he had 103-104 degree fevers with stomach flu symptoms (2 weeks apart, each lasting a few days), feb he had a 104 temp with lethargy, fatigue ets, march he had a febrile seizure (105+ degree temp-went to urgent care), then in april he had Croup with 104-105 degree temp (went to ER), now he just got over Pneumonia, with swollen tonsils 2 weeks ago (his temp went up tp 106.5, his eyes rolled back in his head and he was talking nonsense-again went to ER). Now he is showing symptoms of a UTI and is going to see the doctor again tommorow. His primary care Dr. knows about all these fevers, and says once he's been over an illness for long enough she will do blood work because she doesn't want the results to be off because of the antibiotics.
I don't know why he is sick so much. It worries me, because his sisters never catch any of it before him, or from him (they're 2 and 4 and go everywhere together). I just keep worrying all the time in the back of my head that theres something else going on. I don't know why he'd be so sick or what could cause him to get so many fevers/infections?
What could it be?
