Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If no neurological cause for pain in the arm is found like a pinched nerve, get a color dopplar to rule out a clot in blood vessel (either thrombophlebitis or deep vein thrombosis). It can also be due to inflammation of the muscles or myositis. Other than that, get a nerve conduction velocity test to know if there is any nerve compression. Metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism and low calcium could also be a cause and hence get this checked. Hope this helps. Take care!
I know what you mean. My pain is in my left arm around the elbow and on top side of arm is a burning pain all day and sometimes i can't get much sleep from it.
I was taking beta-blockers for years, but recently had to quit them because they
were causing me to have a very low[drop dead] heartrate.
The pain in my left arm started right after i stopped taking the beta-blockers.
I have hypertension and a skipping heartbeat, which causes me a lot of anxiety.
Sometimes i have anxiety or panic attacks which makes me feel like i am dying.
My Dr won't give me but one pill for anxiety to be taken at bedtime, so when i have
the attacks in the daytime i just have to ride it out without any help whatsoever.
Only one half of a xanax helps the panic attacks, but he won't give me but 30 per month.
I understand that this medication is very addictive and that is why he won't give me but one per day for night-time use so i can get some sleep.
But with my arm hurting so bad, i sometimes can't get to sleep anyway.
I wish i could find what is causing this burning pain around the elbow area[not joint]
and if there is anything that can be done about it. Thanks!
