Pacemaker VS High blood pressure

My mom's doctor recommended that she get a Pacemaker. However, my mom feels strongly against getting it. W are all very worried for her and want to her to agree to have one, since she has without a reason fainted on several occasions and was rushed to the ER.  She also has very high blood pressure 190/110. She says that "if the Pace maker will not aid her blood pressure she will not have it". For some reason i believe that there is some sort of relationship between the pacemaker and the blood pressure.  My question is, would the pace maker in anyway help the blood pressure be a little lower?

You are right about why she does not want a pace maker. thankyou so much for your answer. I  just hope that we can be supportive of her and try to understand her even though her condition is serious and she needs to do something about it fast, I just think the fact that we understand how serious her condition is, makes us so blind about her feelings and we are putting way to much pressure on her.

It sounds like you mom has a series of complex medical problems. Her physician has counseled her well that a pacemaker will not correct her blood pressure.   Given the situation described, she needs to be aware that both her heart rhythm and blood pressure are both serious problems and need to be taken care of seriously.   I hope that she reconsiders her position.  Part of her resistance could be fear or depression; therefore, you really need to listen to her concerns if she will share them.
