Advice for cystinuria condition

I have a history of cystine stones and have been having intense pain in my right side. After a trip to the emergency room the ct scan did not reveal any stones in the right kidney. If the pain is not related to a  stone there may be a chance of damage or scaring in the ureter due to many procedures.

Is there a chance the ct scan missed a stone?
What can I do if the ureter is damaged and what are the risk?

11 days still in pain and unable to walk or move right. I have had another CT scan with contrast which revealed more stones than the CT scan 3 days earlier. My new urologist said the stones I have right now should not be causing the pain and that flow through the ureter was fine. He suggested I strained a muscle.  My urologist also refered me to a gynecologist to get an ultra sound due to a few  small cyst they saw on my ovaries.

My new question is that could a strained muscle in my back be causing so much pain in my groin, lower back and side?

Thank you for taking the time to address my questions. I truly appreciate any ideas or suggestions that may help me get better.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Cystine stones may not readily appear using a plain radiograph. A CT Scan usually shows all types of stones in the urinary tract. If there are any abnormalities such as strictures or adhesions, the CT scan may also show them. You may discuss this with your urologist in case I might be mistaken.

Ureteral damage is rare but may be caused by repeated procedures or trauma. A ureteral injury warrants surgical repair such as a stent placement .The intervention usually depends on where the injury is located.

I hope this helps. Keep us informed regarding your progress.
