hi thanks for your help, i went back to the physician he had the pathologist read my the renal ultrasound photos which he says is absolutely fine no sign of calcification, no stones seen, no swelling and no signs of masses or tumors, I also was placed on another 10 day course of antibiotics. the physician seems pretty assured that the microscopic red blood cells is due to infection of the kidneys. The face that the number of red blood cells went from 25-30 and now at 10-12 is kind of reassuring plus there is no visible blood in my urine and no proteinuria noted. plus at my age renal tumors are highly unlikely. please tell me what other tests you suggest i ask my doctor to take. I'm scheduled for a repeat urinalysis on the 6th June.  I also have bin having pain in my shoulder blade areas burning in nature and stinging  i had a chest xray and c-spine xray done which should nothing at all. What next do I do. at age 27 do you suggest i ask my doctor for further urine studies or should i continue the antibiotic and repeat the urinalysis and see of the red blood cells will drop from 10-12 to within a normal range like 0-3 ?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What you seem to be having is microscopic hematuria (blood that is only seen when the urine is examined under a microscope). It can be due to medical conditions of the kidneys like tubular necrosis, cystitis, glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis ,kidney stones or tumors. It can also indicate chronic kidney disease.

I would suggest a nephrologist’s consultation and further investigations to confirm the cause.

I hope that helps.Take care and regards.
