HELP!!! DR. PLEASE blood in the urine for 4-5 months

Hi, im disabled and been home bound for 11 years do to a phobea.
I'm 29 years old and stay with my parents, you just moved up
north from orange county Ca. when we move here i started doing
alot of heavy lefting and hard work which i never was able to do
before. After the first month or so of doing this type of work
i seen that i was peeing yellow unire and didn't thank anything
of it. A week later i started have blood in the urine and agian
just thought it would go away. While it didn't and seem to get worst
as time went bye. Every 4-5 day i was peeing blood, mostly at
night and in the morroning. This went on for a month or so. So i told
my mom and dad, they had some cipro here from a infection that they
had{bladder infiction} and thought thats what i could have. So i started
takeing them and it seem to get better so i stopped takeing them.
and well it came back a few days later. So i just sad to myself
that it would go away but it didn't. as it got worse i try finding
a Dr. to do a house call but couldn't fine one as well as a nurse.
So i'm right you hope you can tell me what this could be. I started
back on cipro for the past week and a half and it seem to be getting
better but would like to no if it could be something to worrie about!
Ok, i started having lower back pains that seemed to go down
to my left groin area. The pain are mild pains in both my back and grion areas.
It seem when i do some hard tpyes of work then the pain get a little
worse and my grion feel like its going up or someone has a grip on them
and its then when i seem to bleed. Then the next day i seem find execpt for the mild pain
  in the back and left side groin. {the back pain is on the left as well}
Now this is been going off and on for 4-5 months now. My urine seem to have
things floating in it as well. My left groin is big then the other
one but its always been like that. I have no bruning when i go
to the bathroom or know other types of pain. So is this most likely
a track, or bladder infaction??? and if not what else could it be?

Dear John,
hematuria, blood in the urine, may come from the kidney, ureter, bladder, prostate or urethra.  The cause may be due to infection/inflammation, stones, cancer, prostatic varices, sickle cell disease, or renal parenchyma lesions or glomerulopathy.  The evaluation consists of a history and physical exam, a urine analysis, culture and sensitivity, serum electrolytes, an imaging study of the kidney and ureters (CT/IVP/Ultrasound), urine cytology, and a cystoscopy to evaluate the urethra, prostate and bladder.
From your history of gross hematuria and pain with radiation to the groin, I suspect a kidney stone.  This also coincides with strenuous activity and possible dehydration which would predispose you to stone formation.  Have you passed any stones?  Do you have a family history of this?  Do you have fever, chills, nausea or vomiting?  You need to be evaluated by a Urologist.  In the meantime, drink plenty of water to ensure hydration.  Strain your urine for stones and take it to the Urologist for stone analysis if you pass one.
More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its urban campuses by calling  (1 800 653 6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians' notes and lab test results that you  may be able to obtain. These will help us greatly.
