PROBLEMS PASSING URINE PROPERLY

I am a 57 year old male and I am having problems passing urine (peeing). There seems to be no pressure even though I feel the need to pee … it’s as if only gravity is driving a very weak stream. As well as being weak, the stream peters out before I feel I have finished, and because of that I often feel I need to go again after just 30 minutes or so. I have several times strained my lower abdominal muscles trying too hard to pee properly. Does anyone have any advice or ideas on what the problem might be?

Hello Dr Santos ... thankyou for the advice and taking time to reply.
Other symptoms? Well yes to urinary frequency, urgency and difficulty, and lack of pressure (as mentioned previously)... but no pain in urinating or back pain or fever.
Back in July (previous post) I had several incidents of blood in my semen ... this eventually cleared with an extended course (28 days) of Norfloxacin.
Also, and this may be totally unrelated, I have noticed my erect penis is no longer as straight as it was, and when flaccid now hangs slightly to one side.
Again, any further advice would be much appreciated ... I live with my family in the Philippines and it is not easy to get good medical advice or care... thanks, Sagasa

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Aside from problems passing urine, what other symptoms are present? This could be due to urological issues such as infection, urethritis or prostate problems. Urinary tract infection usually presents with urinary urgency and frequency, difficulty urinating, painful urination, back pain and even fever. To rule this out, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Urine tests will help rule out infection. Take care and do keep us posted.
