Hello,
After a varicocelectomy, some bruising, swelling, and oozing of the wound should be expected. Swelling is a normal part of the healing process as well. As a general guideline, if the wrinkles of the scrotum can be seen and appreciated, then the swelling is within a reasonable level.

It may take 5-10 days to be able to do sports, exercise, heavy lifting and have sex (and masturbate of course). It is not advisable to smoke or take marijuana for 1-2 weeks after surgery until your operating surgeon permits.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Can anyone please help? I am also experiencing a lot of swelling in the veins... Worst than before, and it does disappear when lying down. The veins are so full they are firm.
