UTI or more serious..please help

Hi I am a 29 year old female in ok health other than being a little over weight. I  went to the ER last night due to bloody urine and chunks of bloody tissue almost like a blood clot..the ER doctor just diagnosed me with a "nasty uti" and prescribed Cipro for the infection. I know the bloody tissue isn't due to a period because I have PCOS and I don't have a menstural period.  I am in constant pain in my bladder area and it hurts so bad to urinate.  I am afraid it could be more serious I read at another web site from a Urologist that a lot of doctors just prescribe antibiotics for a UTI when blood is in the urine when it actually could be and probably is something more serious.I told him about the bloody tissue but he never explained to me what it could be ...I don't have any health insurance and  feel because of that he just hurried me back out the door.  I am afraid it could be something far more serious..I know this may be a long shot but my Grandmother died from bladder cancer...It scares me because everytime I urinate I wipe and there is chunks and stringy bloody tissue..EVERYTIME something is not right..please tell me what you think could be going on and what you think I should do..thanks

Thanks for the reply but it isn't my PCOS that I had the question about it is my bladder..the pain during urnation the blood in my urine and the chunky bloody tissue that I am passing when I urinate...

I am not taking anything for my PCOS I just deal with all the horrible side effects and the heart breaking infertility from this condition..

Please read my question once more about the UTI or something more serious thanks for your time..

Hi,

It is clear that you need another opinion. And this appears to  be some kind of secretions from the uterus itself. It could be caused by the hormones that you might be taking for the PCOS.

Hope this helped. Let me know if you need any further help.
Best regards
