hi

i havent been diagnosed with prostate problems from the urologist in UK, i was refered by my GP for a suspected prostate problem, at the urologists i was unable to undergo the transrectal ultrasound due to hemorrhoids. I was only left with a semen analysis (whichj i was told is fine, it did not check for bacteria i was told) and nothing else was checked and i was discharged.

i get severe breathing problems at times and have been told its dust and i have tried 3 different types of antihistamines which fix the breathing troubles but then give me symptoms of prostrate problems, i cannot sit properly, very uncomfortable, urine stream goes much weaker, pain in ejaculation, weakness in the penis and pelvic area. This effect of antihistamines only feels my suspicions on prostate problems to be correct.

i have contacted the GP (new), he didnt know of any antihistamines for a sufferer of prostate disease. I have been given certirizine hydrochloride, which again is not for prostate sufferers, i was also told by the GP, prostate enlargment only occurs in over 50s.
(my symptoms occured  on the night after having unprotected sex, i have had a urinaylsis, swabs for stds and uti's, all clear, i have had a cystoscopy and a xray with dye of the right kidney (check filtering) done few years ago when the problem began(all fine). there was a ultrasound done, my right vas deferen was slightly swollen on the images, yet it was ignored (i get pains and weakness in that area alot of times)

I did get my partner checked for stds and uti's she was fine too.

Can a CT SCAN see inflamation, enlargment of the prostate? also can it see any blockages of the seminal vessels, vas deferens? orignally when i satretd having problems years ago, my ejaculation was reduced hugely in 1 day (became yellow and watery),it has slowly increased and normal colour, but only half of what volume it was orignally now. I do find my problem is worsened if i was to hold from ejaculating during sex so i avoid that.

i am getting the house cleaned up and dusty areas to be removed. So hopfully will become easier, only issue is, when i go out to other areas, specially to other countries to visit family thats when i may need antihistamines as im very sensitive to dust. even air dust out side.

i need some advice on this, i feel i need to get a diagnosis of my condition so i dont make the condition worse and drs would then look through other means to help my allergies.

thank you

tony

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Antihistaminics are contraindicated in prostatic disease like BPH. Try to avoid the allergens which are causing allergies. Maintain/clean dehumidifiers and air conditioners regularly. Air filters of the ac trap allergens, like molds, dust and pollen. So maintain clean air filters. Also replace all heavy upholstery with light curtains and sofas.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
