post Vasectomy pain.

Hello,

I had my vasectomy done around June or july (I can't remember now), and i have a few questions to ask;

1) For the first three months, I get slightly uncomfortable pain in both side of the vas where the ends have been cut (I could locate the pain spot around top right or left of the stomach).  The pain felt like the doctor was pull the vas in the operation but it only last for about 30sec to 2min max when it happens.  It's November now and I haven't had this pain for the past 10-12 weeks now.  I have noticed the pain on one side last longer than the other side during the first three months of it.  Does this happen after the operation?

2)  I haven't been back to the doctor to get an "all clear" due to work, and my question is what does my ejaculation look like?  It seems like there is not much different before the operation, although it's less sticky and less odory.  I would have expect that after vasectomy the ejaculation would look like "clear".

I really should go back to the doctor and get an "all clear", but I just want to know more about it before I go back to it, I am just worried that the doctor might not have cut enough vas during the operation thus might have failed the operation and he had to add more anaesthetic  while he was pull the vas because it was hurting my stomach.

Please advice me on these issues and much appreciate it.

Cheers.

Thanks for your reply,  after i've read your post and realised what you have mentioned were all quite make sense and now feel a bit more ease now.

For some reason i have that pain at the top of the stomach just off the side and the lower end of the stomach but now the pain is not there any more.

I guess i would just have to go back to the doctor when I can get some time off work.

Thanks for your response.

Cheers.

I had a vasectomy several years back, and was on my feat and pain-free within 2-3 days. I'm not sure about that pain you're feeling, but it doesn't sound normal to have had it for so long after the procedure.

As for the "all clear", you're going to have to go back to your doctor and have that check, unfortunately. Because of the pain you're experiencing, it may be that there's something on the inside that didn't take and you're still producing sperm and it's backing up causing pain, or something like that. Usually, after 1-2-3 months, you can be sure that you're "clear", but in your specific case, I wouldn't take it for granted.

As for your semen being white and not clear... that's the nature of semen, my friend. Just because there's no sperm in there, doesn't mean it'll change color! My semen looks no different than before I had the procedure, and I feel sure, that unless you look at it under a microscope of some kind, you can't tell the difference.

Good luck to you.
