strong headache (like a hangover), next day after masturbation

Hi,

I have been having this problem for a long time now (last 2-3 years). The thing is after I masturbate, I usually get a strong headache on the next day (like a hangover) and it lasts for at least 12 to 24 hours. It is a very strong headache, so strong sometimes that I feel like puking all day.

I'm a bit worried and anxious because of this problem and seeking help. Please tell me what to do - any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the same problem for some time (with the same symptoms). It is probably benign sex headache - but check with a doctor to be sure. My preference is to see a doc I havent met before (because I'm shy talking to them about personal things).
Your Doc may send you to get a CT scan or other scan (recommended) to rule out a brain injury.I recently had mine and it came back clear so I am happy.
The doc may also prescribe something as a prophylaxis against headache such as a beta-blocker or calcium channel blocker - I've found these work in small doses (but check for side effects). For headache relief there are anti-inflammatories or a triptan medication (such as sumatriptan) which targets seratonin (good for my headaches). I've also once tried ergotamines which were effective but I didnt like the side-effects and discontinued because my headaches don't come with nausea and I'd rather put up with them than use heavy medications like ergotamine.

Personally, I'm going to try hypnotherapy because my own headaches are only precipated by solo-orgasm (i.e. masturbation alone) and I think they may have a muscular cause (tensing and pinching in the neck that restricts bloodflow and causes vasospasm). My headaches, happily, do not occur when I'm with a partner - but there are other expressions of orgasm headache for many people and many experiences which typing in the keywords in a web search-engine will turn-up.

I haven't told you all the ways to self-treat but I think that is enough to be going on with. Good luck ! You're not alone. There are many men and women who have treated the same problem - it is not as scary as it seems and can be treated and often cured.

I suffer the same, it is because just after masturbating blood pressure hits your brain with a storm, you can feel heart thumping after orgasm. This the reason why when through some area of brain this blood passes you feel headache. And the blood vessels in your brain are very thin just like rope or cloth lints.
I used to get these headaches, then one day i woke up with my right eyeball not moving, this same blood pressure after orgasm caused an haemorrhage which made clots in the eye motor nerve. This abnormal condition of is cavernoma.

I have same problem but get nausea and bad neck pain and don't what to do for it either, some say ginger would help with pain not sure on that

P.S. One more thing.. apart from headache I feel very weak and lazy on the next day.. i have no energy even to get out of bed let alone do anything useful.. my problem is still the bad headache but just thought I'd mention this in case it is related..
