Vitamin D Deficiency (3 Months In). When Will I See Symptom Relief?

I was diagnosed with Vitamin D Deficiency about three months ago and my levels are now in the normal range as of today. So when will I start to see symptom relief? I am sort of dizzy some times, disorientated, confused feelings, brain fog, spaced out feelings from time to time, and it seems to get worse when I put my eyeglasses on. Any idea to when I should get my life back. It feels like I am constantly drunk. I hate it.

Re: Candida (medical) testing issues to be aware of.

--Stool testing will show if your levels of yeast are within a "normal" range,
a statistical model, which reflects an average of what is normal for many other people but may not necessarily indicate a level of yeast that is "normal" for your body.

---Blood testing.  Besides allergic type of reactions, anti body blood tests will not reveal other types of immune responses and consequences in other body systems outside the blood circulation, which are also possible reactions to increased candida levels.

Should you indeed have candida , it will take average of 1-2 months of strict treatment per year from the onset of candida (not the symptoms, as you may be unsymptomatic for years!).

A comprehensive long-term approach incorporating an anti-candida diet, stress reduction, anti-fungals(coconut oil is the best natural anti-fungal, works oral & topical),  probiotics etc.
You need to ingest 4-5 T coconut oil daily, but must start with 1-2 the first week and increase to 2 for week 2-3 until your reach 4-5T in week 4 or 5.
The gradual increase, ensures that you do not get serious die-off symptoms. These fungal organisms play can be nasty.
I personally have been using extra virgin organic coconut oil for years.

Thanks for all the information. I tried the spit test and I wasn't sure what it was indicating. I can try to mention it again to my doctor. How is it treated? I was reading up on it more and it seems to explain a lot.

You're welcome Neal.

BTW, I understood from your earlier post that you do indeed have hypothyroidism, which is linked also to low vitamin D.
Is hypothyroidism a consequence or a cause? The (scientific) jury is out,
but I'm putting my money on hypothyroidism being a cause of vit D deficiency.

The only reason I mentioned hypothyroidism, is that is quite common to have it undertreated, because doctors adjust the dosage according to serum tests, which may not be accurately indicating thyroid function!!!

Cheers!

Well she specifically was meaning that it is rare to get to such a stage to start fermenting alcohol. I will look up the spit test though, and give it a shot, thank you very much for your replies, and concern. Also as I mentioned in my last post I do in fact have hypothyroidism. Thanks again for your replies.

Neal, please beware of conventional doctors who are eager to toss aside
certain conditions, which are not well "established" within their circles.

Candida is a very prevelant condition and I'm surprised that your doctor said that it is very rare!
Candida is the fourth most common cause of bloodstream infections among U.S. hospital patients (which does not include undiagnosed or misdiagnosed patients), according to CDC.

Did you do the "saliva test for candida" ( not diagnostic but very indicative).
It's a simple and fast self-test. Just look it up.

Now is it possible, due to under-regulated thyroid function, you are suffering the consequences because of flawed serum thyroid testing?
See my previous reply - the parargaph on hypothyroidism.

I'm posting as just a regular member here, so I cannot make any specific claims from my professional work, but based on family/relatives /friends experiences, undiagnosed low thyroid function  or under-regulated thyroid function (due to the faulty methodology in thyroid testing)  more often than not is the hidden cause of their chronic illness,
as patients & doctors alike rest assured their thyroid function is just fine!

So to my opinion, in order to move on with your life, the way you desire, these aforementioned suspicions need to be truly ruled out.

Doctor Mark Starr an expert in Hypothyroidism and author of
"Hypothyroidism Type 2, The Epidemic"
lists among the pathetically long list of hypothyroidism symptoms,
TMJ or Temporomandibular Joint dysfunction (clenching of the teeth, leading to chronic inflammation and pain in the temporomandibular joint).

Thanks Niko buddy, yeah I have already looked into the yeast overgrowth. I didn't do any tests but my doctor didn't think that was what it was. She said it is very rare and that a blood alcohol level would come back elevated with the blood work she did and it didn't. I Do however have hypothyroidism, I was diagnosed with that and the vitamin d deficiency at the same time. I didn't know that hypothyroid and TMJ were linked together though. I never got my wisdom teeth out and they have also really been giving me problems, as well as the right side of my jaw popping when I chew for too long. I want to get my wisdom teeth pulled but I am so busy I'll need to wait for winter break coming up.

Probably the number one condition matching the symptoms of drunkenness
is a Candida Infection, as yeast (Candida infection is caused by a yeast overgrowth) and sugar intake in any of its forms (carbs) in the fermentation process inside the body have 2 main by-products :  formaldehyde (a neurotoxin) and alcohol.

So while you're waiting for the negative effects of vitamin D deficiency to subside as your D levels are rising, you may want to go on a strict anti-candida protocol:
avoiding carbs (which feed the Candida) alcohol, yeast, stress and supplement with coconut oil ( the best natural anti-fungal source)
starting with 1-2 T daily and increase weekly by 1T until week 4, where you
take 4-5 T daily. It also happens to be anti-microbial, anti-viral and anti-parasitic. Probiotics usually help too, but must be of high quality
It might take a few months to eradicate, should you indeed have it.
You may do a self test. Search under: "Saliva test for candida"-simple & fast (indicative-not diagnostic).

Did you get hypothyroid ruled out? TMJ has been linked to hypothyroid
conditions. You should get checked for Free T3, Free T4 & Reverse T3
and forgo the standard TSH, T3 & T4 tests as they do not indicate thyroid function, only serum circulating levels.
You may have to pay out of pocket $$ as they may not have an insurance code (I know the rT3 is rarely covered anywhere)
fT3/rT3 ratio is probably the most reliable marker for low cellular thyroid function.
Look for a ratio of over 20 for healthy thyroid function. (divide Free T3 by reverse T3, but make sure you are in the same unit measurement for both.)

I hope this helps, however, please note that my suggestions do not constitute medical advice.

Best wishes.
Niko

No I don't have any bone problems, most of it is mental. At first I was tired a lot and ache in my joints but the doctor just chalked it up to vitamin d and thyroid. I have had X-Rays, and a lot of other things that if I had osteoporosis I think I'd know by now. I know at this point with recovering from Vitamin D Deficiency it is just a waiting game and I just need to be patient but I just would really like some reassurance that there is light at the end of this dark disorientating tunnel. I don't know how many people here on this forum have felt the feeling of being drunk or really buzzed, and while it can be sort of a fun escape when you're out with your buds just to have a good time or celebrate, it is not something you want full time. So anyone that has any advice or reassurance, or any tips please let me know when I will most likely start seeing symptom relief. I would really appreciate it.

Perhaps you are beginning with osteoporosis, aka osteopenia.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah I'll check all those things out as well I think I do have TMJ too, I've been hearing popping noises when I chew and my mother also had it when she was younger. She had surgery for hers. I would like to do the same. I also need to get my wisdom teeth out, it is long overdue. I'm so sorry to hear you've been like this for over 3 years. I couldn't imagine it. Thanks again for the feedback.

Been drunk for over 3 yrs, I feel your pain. If it's the Vitamin D causing I have heard that it can take 6 months to a 1 yr to feel better. Here are a few things you can look into as well.  All of these things can make you spaced out and are easy to check. Get an eye exam. Check out your Vitamin B12,  Also look up TMJ, it's a jaw issue, so if you grind your teeth that could be the problem. Also look into going to a PT, I am going to one now and they are stretching my neck and shoulder muscles, they tell me they are super tight. You could also look up chronic myofascial pain syndrome, I found this info on a board called dizzy times, so look that up as well.
