I've been severely low now continuously for almost 10 years and my levels have always been around your values at 6 to 8. Lots of symptoms but not the breathing one. Maybe there's another overlaying issue to be determined yet?
Get plenty of rest and don't rush things. I had mono and needed at least 10 hours of sleep a day for almost a year afterward.
While it's true that vitamin D is not common in foods, it's better to absorb it through food. Here are some foods which contain vitamin D that you can supplement your diet with:
Cod liver oil; Salmon; Mackerel; Tuna fish canned in oil; Sardines canned in oil; Milk (nonfat, reduced fat, and whole vitamin D-fortified); Fortified Margarine; Ready-to-eat cereals fortified with vitamin D; Eggs (vitamin D is found in yolk);
Hi when i first started this adventure i would get shortness of breath.The doctor told me it was from being overwelmed by all the changes in your body which can cause a little anxienty it eventually went away after the vitamin d kicked in. It takes time I'm still going thru this just riding the roller coaster ride...

To edit, taking vitamin D can bring out or worsen an existing magnesium deficiency.
Not enough magnesium is a cause of shortness of breath. Magnesium is the most important co factor for vitamin D absorption. And taking vitamin D can bring out or worsen an existing deficiency. I know!
its not likely to cause breathlessness but it does cause extreme fatigue which could be the cause of breathlessness, if its worrisome you should call your doc but its likely the fatigue, i have the same thing my levels were higher than yours but still extremely low at 17 and i felt that way
