Hcg- side effects

Has anyone experienced any bad side effects from the hcg shots?  I am administering them myself and just want to know what to look out for.

I have done 2 rounds of the hcg diet using the homeopathic drops and had a total loss of 32 pounds.  I did my first round in April '11 and the second round 6 weeks later.  About 3 weeks after the second round I started to have significant hair loss.  I am still experiencing hair loss and estimate my loss to be at about 60%.  Thank goodness I had lots of hair to start with!  I would recommend to anyone interested in doing this diet that you have at least 2-3 months between rounds and only do the rounds for the minimum 23 days.  Dr. Simeon does mention this as a possible side effect but I didn't realize he meant THIS much hair loss.  He contends that the hair will grow back... I hope so!  I loved the diet otherwise and didn't experience any other negative side effects.

It makes sense that after the drops you would loose your hair.  After every pregnancy I had I always lost my hair for a few months afterwards and then it stops and your hormones will correct itself.  Everyone is different so the "small" dose maybe too much for you.  When I started the diet I got very sick.  I caught a cold and an UTI.  The doctor tested my urine and found that my body was eating my muscles.  Remember your heart is a muscle and all your organs are surrounded by muscles.  So..I  increased my calorie intake to 800 and now I feel much better and I'm still loosing a pound a day.  So that just goes to show you that the generic "500" cal a day isn't always for everyone.  The "36" drops isn't for everyone either.   You have to pay attention to your body.  Adjusting things as you go.  Go to your doctor to get checked immediately if you don't feel well.  So far my negative side effects are achy joints, I break out into sweats ( think this is due to fat burn),low immunity and headaches. I noticed my breasts becoming more dense (larger).  But overall I think this is the kick in the butt I needed to start loosing weight over a short period of time!
