Thank you for the extend info!
I have a 4 weeks baby, and my post prego wight was 189 during my pregnecy I lost 20lb and then as I got to full term I was 178, after I gave birth I weighted my self and it was 164, I got on this diet journal just to count my calories and I lots 3lb in the first 3 weeks and know I'm up to 164 again!
That's what I've been reading. It is around 200-500 depending on how much your baby is consuming so if you're exclusively breastfeeding, especially if your baby is still under 6 months, you'll be on the higher bracket of calories burned (I've read on other sites that it may be more than 500). Your body will need extra calories for it to make milk. It is advised though that you should not consume less than 1500 calories a day as it may lower your milk supply. A day or even a week of less than 1500 calories may not lower your supply but more than a week may.
I personally had less than 1500 calories consumption a day and sometimes, even less than 1200. My son is still getting his fill of milk and gaining weight consistently but I noticed that it is a lot harder now to fill a bottle when pumping as it takes me much longer (my son is just better at getting the milk he needs) and I also don't leak anymore (I usually leak a lot when I am having normal food consumption) aside from whenever my son is sucking and then lets go for some reason. So if I want to pump I usually go back to eating normally (not the reduced diet) the day before I need to pump to the actual day
I am upping my consumption now though as my son is my first priority than my weight loss.
I research on this a lot as I am a new mother and is exclusively breastfeeding my now 4 month old son.
I am really not sure if this is true but maybe it is. Why do I think so?There is this 2-3 week period that I've been eating a lot to the point of bingeing on one meal per day but I haven't gained weight although I haven't shed pounds either.
