The question was has anyone tried the cabbage soup diet .... Yes, I did a few years ago, it works but is hard to stay on as you really do get sick of it fast. Doctors use it in hospitals to quickly reduce over weight people needing surgery. Please note it is only reccommended short term. It was created by hospital dietician's therefore is safe and full of all the nutrients required to maintain a short term balanced diet.
Good luck!
If you've gained weight from having a baby, that doesn't mean that you need to put your body through a harsh diet. Cabbage is a great vegetable, but not for every meal, all the time eating for long periods of time; not to mention the harm you could do to your stomach lining!
If you have a hard time keeping yourself motivated to exercise, you have to find something that is fun, so you'll enjoy working out. I got into powerkickboxing (good cardio/weight training program) and it's so much fun, that my kids work out with me. So, not only does mom get a good, full body workout, but the kids have fun learning self-defense techniques.
Seriously, when you find something that is fun to do, you're more apt to sticking with it; and the pounds will come off at a nice steady pace, which is better than any starvation diet! (Believe me, I used to be over 150 pounds overweight and even though I still have weight to lose, I feel better and I enjoy working out 5-6 days a week).
FINALLY, someone that makes sense & does it right! Good for
you & I'm sure baby & you love the quality time. Fresh air/
moving/moderation/plan. Works all the time. Who wants to be
downwind from the cabbage-patch kid? You have to use it to lose
it. Walking outdoors increases endorphines to make you feel
better about yourself. Some need to start w/ baby steps. All
these pills/shots/stuff just relay bad msgs to the young ones.
Some of these sites have been under investigation for selling
contaminated pills containing lead. China has been all over the
net w/ fake sites. Hope more read your idea & I bet baby
becomes a runner too. You are setting an excellent example.
I've tried the Cabbage Soup diet a long time ago. I suppose it works, if you can stay on it long enough. Maybe the idea is to be so disgusted by cabbage soup for breakfast that you just don't eat...suppose that works. Anyway, when I'm dieting, this is generally my daily menu and it works as long as I don't go off of it too often.
Breakfast: Fiber One Cereal w/ FF Skim Milk
Snack: Banana or other fruit (but I'm usually still full from breakfast until lunchtime)
Lunch: Big salad with chicken or tuna salad (or both). I don't use dressing, just dip the tuna/chicken w/ salad. (Schlotzky's in my area has a really good tri-salad)
Snack: Fresh Fruit Cup around 3-4:00 so I'm not starving when I get home and eat everything.
Dinner: Some kind of fish or chicken dinner usually...I also take broccoli crowns and microwave the entire thing for 4 minutes with a little water.
(Exercising as soon as I get home from work also helps curb my appetite so I'm not so likely to 1) overeat at dinner; and 2) skip exercising because I'm too full from dinner. Bike riding, walking, whatever. Put the baby in a stroller and walk the mall. Hope this helps.
Oh just to mention the reason for such a drastic diet such as the cabbage soup is because I had a baby 8 weeks ago which caused me to gain 45 pounds. : (
LOL, well the diet has ended couldnt take only cabbage soup. Especially for breakfast.
Any advice on auctal meal planning?
breakfast, lunch , dinner etc.
Why would you go on such a diet? What's wrong with a balanced diet consisting of lean meats, leafy green veggies, and whole grains while counting calories?
