It is hard to find real facts about fitness online, there is a lot of false information out there.
First of all, it is losing fat, not weight. Weight also consists of your bones, tons of water, your internal organs, your joints and your muscles and you don't want to lose those things, I hope.
Forget the quickest way, because obviously the quickest way to lose weight is also the quickest way to starve yourself to death. Hopefully you don't want to do that either.
The ONLY healthy way to lose fat is to do mild to moderate aerobic activity. The aerobic energy system is what burns fat. It is the ONLY thing that BURNS fat in your body. The aerobic energy system is used when you are getting enough oxygen. This is important to remember, because as soon as you start breathing hard during physical activity, you are no longer burning fat! If you are physically fit you might be able to jog or even run without breathing hard, but if you aren't fit, you should be doing very mild aerobics, such as going for a light walk for an extended amount of time.
See... alot of people don't lose fat because they think they have to work out harder and faster to lose fat, but the TRUTH is that you actually have to work out easier for a longer period of time, which is what cardio is.
When breathing becomes hard and physical activity becomes intense, you are only burning carbs!!!!
It's important to remember you burn calories - but what kind of calories are you burning? Lifting weights, sprinting or anything that makes you breathe harder is burning carbs, not fat because it is using the Anaerobic energy system.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't do intense activity though, because doing intense activity gives your metabolism a boost!
Lifting weights gives you muscle, which is your metabolism.
The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism is, which means the more fat you burn and the more food you can eat without ever getting fat.
So do proper cardio - like going swimming or going for a walk for an hour or so about 3-6 times a week and also incorporate strength training once a week or more and also some intense sports like basketball, or sprinting or maybe even HIIT which will boost your metabolism even more.
This isn't just what I think, they are actual facts from Fitness Theory.
Diet (cleaner, healthier eating plus less caloric intake daily, to start off- around max 1300 cals a day) and exercise (cardio, HIIT). Plus a tablespoon of vinegar first thing in the morning with a few glasses of water right after speeds up fat loss.
Diet and exercise! You need to cut all the simple carbs. from your diet and expend more calories than you consume. Check my journal and search for peak 8.
