Just joined our local YMCA & signed the kids up for classes. I can use their Gym while the kids do cheer & Karate. It's a start. Like I said I'm done pouting about it & now it's time to get to work!
Get your kids in the exercise with you. You can do yours, and they can get into the habit of exercising . Which hopefully they will carry thru out their lives.
God bless
Karen
We are all here to help and encourage each other and you can "check in" here any time you want to.
I'm not a good "dieter" either, but remember: a "diet" is what you eat, whether it's good or bad. Just like a koala bear's "diet" consists of eucalyptus leaves, your "diet" can consist of whatever you choose. Let's just hope you choose the "good" stuff.
I know it isn't easy to eat the right things when you are cooking and baking all kinds of "goodies" for the rest of the family. I don't believe in "depriving" yourself of things you enjoy, because that generally leads to "binging" at some point, so my suggestion would be to go ahead and eat the same foods as the rest of the family - just cut the portions way back and add lots of fresh/frozen fruits and veggies. Make sure you cook with lean meats and go with low/no fat dairy. Think of it this way: you will be teaching your children to eat healthy foods.
As far as workouts with a 4 & 7 yr old - try to get them involved. Put a dvd in the player and all 3 of you can "workout" together or all of you go for a walk together. I bet the kids will think it's great fun; they will be spending quality time with mom AND learning that exercise is fun and a good thing. You will have the knowledge that you are teaching your children good habits as far as exercise and eating properly.
Has anyone ever considered that your mother in law might have hyperthroidism or something that keeps her so small? Just a thought...
Come back and check in here or feel free to send me a PM whenever you want - we all need someone to encourage/motivate us and there are plenty of us here who will help you all we can.
Good luck and don't be a stranger.
