NEW YEAR; NEW CHALLENGE

We haven’t started a new challenge since the summer, so with a new year just around the corner, who’s up for   one?  I certainly am.

As some of you know, I’ve had quite a few other challenges on my plate this past year; dealing with my elderly aunt, including her fractured hip and other health issues, my thyroid levels out of whack, B12 levels fluctuating, along with other things, have all taken a toll, both mentally and physically.

Now that the Holidays are pretty much over (for me, since we usually don’t do much celebrating for New Year’s anymore), I have taken stock and set some new, achievable goals.

I’ve been doing pretty well with my eating, but really need to hit the exercise.  While my “winter neighbor” is here, and we both love to walk, we do for at least 30 minutes, most days; however, that’s obviously not enough!!

I love to do yoga, but don’t take the time;  I love the Wii Fit, but don’t take the time; I have a treadmill and love it, but don’t take the time.  Hhmmmm – what does that tell you?

My major goal is to make a very concerted effort, this year, to lose at least 20 pounds, though I’d like to lose more, if possible. In order to do that, I’m going to have to set an exercise schedule and stick with it, along with watching what I eat and making sure my thyroid levels stay stable.

Because losing 20 pounds sounds like a daunting project, I’m going to break it down into smaller goals, to make it achievable.  The first goal, will be to lose between 1 and 2 pounds per week, which is the safest rate for weight loss. The second goal, will be to get a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise daily, while actually aiming for an hour, most days.

We’re all here for the purpose of losing weight; therefore, I invite you to come along on this journey with me.  I intend to get started on Sunday, which is New Year’s Day……. and hope you will join me.

All you have to do to join, is to highlight the list of names, copy and paste it into a new post on this thread, then add your name to the list.

We will have a weekly weigh in, like we do now, which I will post each Sunday morning and everyone has a chance to post their current weight, and make whatever comments you want, regarding your week, whether you achieved your goal, or if you need some help, support, motivation.

If you have a different weigh in day, that’s fine, just post your weigh in, when you can.

Be kind to yourself and remember – we win by losing!!

It doesn't matter which day of the week you actually weigh; you can still participate in the weigh in.  Some people weigh on Tues, so post a couple days late.  What counts is that you do weigh in.

Thanks ducky for posting the weigh in link for this week.

The weigh-ins are usually titled "Sunday Weigh In" followed by the date. Here is the one for last Sunday/this week.

Where should we be posting our updates on for our weight goals?

Just in case...here it is...I was not to careful with food choices this week. So I assumed I gained back the 5lbs I lost on my week one. I jumped on the scale and got happy to know I did great. I lost 3 pounds this week. :D

I hope every one else did just as good or better! :)
