Yay, for you... I used to use the food diary all the time, but I've really slacked off. I've had a horrible time losing, no matter what I do, ever since my thyroid quit working. Guess I'll have to get back to recording food and exercise, again.
From education and training I'm the sort of person who likes the idea of recording data. So....when I got my new smart phone last summer I found the app for medhelp and started using it. The idea was that if I had to record everything I eat, I'd eat less - and that's worked so far. Not sure how long I can keep this up, but so far so good.
Forgot to say "Congratulations on the 40 # weight loss"... Would care to share with us, how you did it?
Ask your doctor to run some simple blood tests to check thyroid function. Thyroid malfunction is a very common cause for high cholesterol/triglyceride levels. The tests you need are Free T3, Free T4 and TSH.
