Teenage Dieting

Hello ,
I'm 18 and am trying to get fit before I leave for college in two months. I count calories and only stay in the 1,000-1200 range. I work a lot so I'm not able to work out consistently. I have no clue what to do other than starve. Any suggestions?

Hi hon! I understand what you are going through. I was actually a little bit overweight as a kid due to thyroid issues. After I maintained my thyroid I still had to shed that extra baby fat! I did everything from diet supplements, running and Jenny Craig.

I finally lost thirty pounds and did it with just watching a few things. The first most important thing is to look at the fat content. Usually people thinking that counting calories is the only way to lose weight. What they don't realize is that fat has a major factor. Also eating plenty of good fats help burn bad fat. Like omega threes and anything with olive oil in it instead of really bad oil. Also walking at a high speed burns calories just as much as running and it does not do so much damage on your joints. I would say eat around fifteen or sixteen grams of fat with good fat every once and a while. Also it is important to never starve yourself or your body will be holding on to that weight like a bear in hibernation. Good luck and keep me posted!
