It's not a treadmill, but I just bought a small elliptical from Smooth Cycle.
1) You need to be short for the particular machine I bought (CE 2.0) but they have larger versions. This one is VERY compact, has the capability to have 8 users' data recorded I think, 10 planned programs and 10 levels (or more, haven't gone everywhere just yet). It does BMI and body fat, plus heart rate, etc...all the normal stuff you see. The heart rate monitor takes a few more moments than the one at the gym, but it does give you accurate information.
2) The price was very reasonable and the comments on the machine were above average for other machines in the same range. Setup and all included was right around 700.00. And they set it up for me ... no listening to my husband cuss up a storm, well worth the 100.00 extra (and THEN I found out the day I bought it they were giving 100.00 discounts.... so basically setup was free). Price of machine was 700.00 (Hope that made sense).
3) It is a VERY smooth ride and a tough machine. It's base is small so you can't be extraordinarily vigorous on it, but frankly you don't have to be to get an awesome workout.
I would not recommend this machine to anyone who is say taller than 5'6" +/- 2 inches. And I would not recommend it for someone who is really overweight .... I'm 140 and it does well for my weight and would do well for probably up to 180 (my husband got on it and he's almost 200). He's too tall for the machine but he could use it....but he's really too tall for the machine. It is also adjustable in 3 different positions for both the stride and the arms.
PS...I do not sell this product or get any money from my comments or anyone purchasing it because of my comments, just giving my opinion of my recent purchase. :)
PSS...they have some particularly awesome larger machines for 1500 which I would have LOVED to purchase, just didn't fit that much into the budget.
You can google Smooth Cycle and find their website, it isn't sold in stores. Transaction was easy and delivery within 3 weeks of purchase.
I really like the Lifecycle model at my gym....although I have no idea at all how much they might cost.
I wish to get me a trademill as well. I'll be watching this thread. I really would like to buy one.
