It is to MAINTAIN your current weight if you let it default. You can use that information to help you find those values and then return to the setup page and lower the calories so it will show you where you want to be to lose weight.
For example .. if I default and it should 1,900 calories to maintain .. I may want to return to the setup page and check the manual calculation of 1,400 calories, which should allow me to lose approximately 1 lb per week.
Remember, it takes 3,500 calorie deficit or increase in burned calories through exercise to lose 1 lb. If you lower calories by 500 per day and increase exercise to burn 250-500 calories per day .. you should lose 1 1/2 to 2 lbs per week, which is what is recommended for healthy weight loss.
Remember .. there will be weeks when you lose more and weeks you lose less as you plateau and your body tries to protect you from starvation and wonders what you are doing.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Best wishes .. and keep using your Food Diary ... I am just getting well enough to return to mine this week.
I'd have to go back and look at it, but I'm pretty sure that's what's needed to maintain yur current weight. You would have to create a deficit in order to lose.
