Have you lost weight by dieting recently? The brain-body connection always tries to move you back to your previous weight. If not, you might want to visit your physician and have your thyroid levels checked. Now - if all else is normal.... Exercise Physiologist James Hill in Denver has found that people who have lost weight (50# or more) and kept it off for two years versus those who haven't kept it off have a big difference - they exercise every day. "Every day" is defined as six days a week, since you can't always exercise, and most of them walk as their form of exercise, and they walk for 45-60 minutes daily.
Look at it this way - I see patients who come in and say: "I don't understand - I have gained 30 pounds in the last ten years - I don't know how that happened". Thirty pounds in ten years represents only 30 Calories a day that we eat but don't burn off! We don't even notice something like that - but walking every day does increase how many Calories we burn off, and for me, also makes it easier to turn down the donuts that co-workers bring in!
That's a very broad question. Are you trying to maintain a certain weight or are you losing weight too rapidly for some reason?
