Don't starve yourself, 800 calories is way to low and under eating eventually ends up with the individual giving in and binging. 1450(ish) calories will still help you lose weight and keep it off in the long term - there is no point in "dieting" if you want to lose weight for good. If you want to lose weight, a lifestyle change is needed so that you can carry on eating in such a way for the rest of your life. Limiting yourself to 800 calories a day will only cause you harm in the long term. And on a daily basis you'll have no energy. As long as those 1450(ish) calories consist of fruits, vegetables, protein etc you're set. Also, get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation triggers a hormone that makes you think you're hungry even when you're not and could make you over eat. Water is a great choice too - fizzy drinks supposedly hold on to fat or something like that.

Angelinapaxton is 100% correct.  I too lost weight and have kept it off for 30 years now.  Diets do not work, they are temporary and when you go off of them you gain the weight back.  The answer is a total life style change.  You must eat healthy foods, don't over eat and exercise. You will need to do it from now on.. That's what most healthy folks do... its a permanent change. You need to eat veggies(not fried)fruits and whole grains mostly.  baked fish, turkey and chicken are good for you too.  Limit your salt intake and do not eat food with added sugars..You need to get a food calorie counter book and keep a daily log of what you consume.  If you do not, chances are your eating more than you think and probably eating unhealthy foods too.  You need to always  eat breakfast.. a good breakfast is like Oatmeal or Cheerios...with a banana or maybe some light yogurt.  Eat lots of green leafy veggies...I eat my last meal by 4 pm also...eating late meals is a no no.I agree with the 1200 to 1500 calories per day that she mentions also..  She is totally correct about starving your self...it does not work... You have to change to a permanent healthy life style and once you do it ... you will enjoy it.  There is no way id go back to eating unhealthy and not exercising daily...Its not hard if you just make up your mind to do it.  I would also add that you have to be patient...It takes a little time but it works and its the only way you will be successful permanently.. hope this helps... If your a man you need at least 2000 cals a day. If ur a woman the least ur told to go is 1500 but i went 1200. A pound of fat is 3500 calories so as long as you eat less than that you will see a major decrease. What you need to do is get a gym, get on the elliptical and bike for at least 30 minutes.keep a food journal like this app. And no eating after 7pm. If u want to get extra fancy avoid sugar and carbs (breads). Healthy eating alone helped me go from 200lbs to 120lbs in a 8 months. If i would have done my cardio i would be perfect right now. Remember u r the only thing standing in ur way. And starving urself etc doesnt work because u never stop feeling hungry. Iv tried trust me.

I would try atkins. I know diets are different for everyone, but this is the only one I've had luck with. During one month of being super strict and walking 30 mins every day, I lost 20lbs. Unfortunately, I have no discipline so I didn't stay on it. But I'm down a total of 75lbs over 3 years.. But I'm determined to do my last 40 lbs in 3 months!
