Work-weight.

Here's my scenario: I'm 29, female and I've got the desk job to top all desk jobs. I work 4 ten-hour days during which is just sit at a computer and read and audit. I take two 15-minute breaks and a half-hour lunch break in accordance with my company's policies, but it's VERY taxing just sitting here. I get so bored and restless some days that my only option is to pop something into my mouth...repeatedly...for something OTHER than sitting and staring to do. I tried doing muscle contraction exercises while I sit in my chair and I joined a gym, but don't have the  motivation and energy at the end of a 10 hour work day to drag my weary bones in there. Right now, I'm about 40 lbs overweight and it's all settling in my middle.
I put myself in an apartment with stairs that I've GOT to climb, I walk to wherever I have to go if I go shopping or want to grab a coffee. On my days off, I simply don't eat half as much as I'm otherwise occupied and distracted, but on my work days, it's impossible to stop. I can't email, chat, phone or anything and I don't even have anyone to talk to during the day in my office. I feel lonely, bored, tired and lazy while at work and I wondered if anyone had suggestions for what I could possibly do? I need to get rid of this weight so that I at least don't LOOK as frumpy as I feel.
Thanks in advance!
Cin

Are you able to look into other job opportunities that will stimulate your mind somewhere else? I had this problem once myself and I worked at several office jobs. Some were boring, others busy. But after a while I got tired of office jobs and I got a job at a grocery store on night crew while I went to school in the evenings working towards a degree. Stocking shelves on night crew is HARD WORK and you are never wishing the time would pass because you have so much work to accomplish that you feel like you had more time. Lots of lifting, pulling, pushing, moving, etc and believe me, you lose weight and get strong.

I am not recommending working at a grocery store stocking shelves here but I am suggesting making other things happen for yourself rather than settling for what you have....and hate. I grew to absolutely HATE working at the grocery store and now my back hurts so I moved on and finally am happy at what I do.

I'm with you!  But I have no idea what will work.  Reprogram our brains?  Does hypnosis work, lol?!
